Ingrid Michaelson

  • Ingrid Michaelson's voice is immediately likeable for it's color, her contagiously dynamic manner of execution and it's exquisite technical purity. Because she sings seemingly without effort her voice has a constant essence of being fun. At times this makes you want to bob your head up and down and sing along. When the mood tempers, however, it becomes haunted and stirring. Her lyrics are usually introspective, almost always personal, and sometimes sage. She has a gift for phrasing that never leaves me feeling awkward at the level of intimacy she shares. - Frank Gualtier, Touring the Indies

Greg Laswell

  • Originally from Long Beach, CA, singer/songwriter Greg Laswell moved to San Diego to attend college, where he soon became involved in the local music scene. He played in the band Shillglen and founded All the Rest Records, which went out of business in 2004, after which he started 20 Inch Records, where he worked as producer. In 2003, Laswell released his first solo album, Good Move, which garnered critical local acclaim, and three years later his Vanguard debut, Through Toledo, written after his wife left him, came out. In early 2008, in anticipation for his next full-length, the EP How the Day Sounds, which included an album outtake, hit shelves.
